Galleri Profilen opened in 1986 and has served as a gallery, art shop, and picture framing shop in the centre of the city of Århus ever since.
In 1991, the gallery moved into its present 400 sq m premises located at Grønnegade 93, the first building in Århus designed by the well-known Danish architect C. F. Møller.
The focal point of the gallery is twentieth-century art. Galleri Profilen undertakes publishing work, exhibitions and decorative assignments, as well as appraisals and the buying and selling of modern art.
Among the works the gallery has published are lithographs, serigraphs and copper-prints of works by Ejler Bille, Erik A. Frandsen, Arne Haugen Sørensen, Kai Lindemann and Maja Lisa Engelhardt, as well as bronze sculptures by Dick Nyhuus, Jørgen Haugen Sørensen and Ejler Bille.
